Happy Saturday People! Someone said to me last night “doing the right thing isn’t always an easy route” and he was 100% accurate. Sometimes someone hurts us and our reaction is to walk away give up say I’m done whatever it may be but that’s too easy! When someone hurts us intentionally it’s even harder but with our God nothing is impossible! And loving people when they are with you is far easier than loving people who offend you! Just think about it … Jesus is easy to love because he is perfect in every way. The One who first loved us and who died on the cross to forgive our sins which we didn’t deserve and gave us an unimaginable gift – eternal life.Knowing this truth makes it easy to love Jesus but Christ followers are also called to love sinners which we all struggle with….. which we all are.. every single one of us! It’s why the true test of Christianity is not just loving someone as easy to love as Jesus but loving someone hard to love, a sinner like Judas.Jesus loved Judas until the last moment, even kissing him when arrested.Think of the people in your life akin to Judas, those who betrayed you, hurt you deeply and abandoned you when you needed them the most.Forgiveness may be one of the most difficult commands to follow, but it’s what God tells us we must do. “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another as God in Christ forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32).Forgiving others, especially our enemies, is the true acid test of following Jesus and not just loving Jesus, but the Judases in our lives as well.How are you doing with this test today? I can tell you for me I fail sometimes but the best part is I’m getting better at it and quicker to catch myself as God points it out very quickly 🙂 and I for one think that is a win as I’m a lot better at it then I use to be but still have a ways to go! When I get hurt God is quick to show me that I need to still love and forgive people! Even if by a radio station all the way home saying revenge is not good getting Back is not good stop being there for them is not good but it is good to pray and let God work as he tells us and I for one intend to continue to love, pray for people and be there anytime I can no matter what… thank you Lord for always reminding me people are good and worth forgiving and loving! I hope this helps someone today as I think a lot of people are hurt in today’s world and lost to so many things and make wrong choices and one day those choices come back to haunt us and people spend years sometimes wishing they had acted differently including myself … love, forgive and help each other as we should!
